Fast & Furious 9 (F9) movie compelet story "The Suicide Squad" is a superhero film directed by James Gunn and serves as a soft reboot/sequel to the 2016 film "Suicide Squad." The movie follows a team of supervillains recruited by the government agency known as Task Force X to carry out a dangerous mission in exchange for reduced prison sentences.
The story begins with the assembling of a new team of criminals, including returning characters Harley Quinn, Rick Flag, and Captain Boomerang, as well as new additions such as Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2, Polka-Dot Man, King Shark, and Peacemaker.
Task Force X is sent to the island nation of Corto Maltese, which is under the control of a brutal dictator named Silvio Luna. Their mission is to infiltrate a secret laboratory called Jotunheim and destroy a mysterious project known as "Project Starfish."
As the team lands on the island, they face resistance from the Corto Maltese military and encounter various adversaries, including Luna's forces and deadly creatures. Along the way, they learn that Project Starfish involves a giant extraterrestrial starfish known as Starro, capable of mind-controlling people.
As the team progresses through Jotunheim, some members meet their demise, including the original team sent earlier. However, they manage to reach the heart of the facility, where they discover the true nature of Starro's capabilities and Luna's sinister plans to weaponize it.
With the help of Ratcatcher 2 and her ability to communicate with rats, the remaining members of the team confront Luna and the controlled citizens. They engage in a final battle against Luna's forces and Starro, ultimately defeating the dictator and releasing the people from his mind control.
However, the victory comes at a cost, as several team members sacrifice themselves in the process. The surviving members, including Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2, Harley Quinn, and Peacemaker, come together and decide to complete the mission by destroying all evidence of their involvement to protect their reduced prison sentences.
In a mid-credits scene, it is revealed that Peacemaker, who was previously believed to be dead, survived and is taken into custody by Amanda Waller, the leader of Task Force X. This sets up the upcoming spin-off series titled "Peacemaker."
"The Suicide Squad" presents a chaotic and action-packed story, combining dark humor, explosive action sequences, and character-driven moments. The film embraces the irreverent nature of its antihero characters and showcases their unlikely camaraderie as they work together against formidable odds.
