Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) movie complete story

Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) movie complete story "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is a British comedy film released in 1975. It was written and performed by the comedy group Monty Python, consisting of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. The film is a parody of the Arthurian legend and follows King Arthur and his knights as they embark on a quest for the Holy Grail. The movie begins with an animated sequence where King Arthur (Graham Chapman) is accompanied by his loyal servant, Patsy (Terry Gilliam), and recruits his Knights of the Round Table, including Sir Bedevere the Wise (Terry Jones), Sir Lancelot the Brave (John Cleese), Sir Galahad the Pure (Michael Palin), and Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot (Eric Idle). King Arthur receives a divine mission from God to find the Holy Grail and sets off on their journey. Along the way, they encounter various absurd and comedic situations. They are confronted by the Black Knight (John Cleese), who refuses to let them pass until he is thoroughly defeated and has all his limbs cut off. Undeterred, Arthur and his knights continue their quest. They come across a castle occupied by French soldiers who taunt and hurl insults at them. Undeterred, Arthur devises a plan to use a giant wooden rabbit as a Trojan Horse to infiltrate the castle. However, the plan goes awry, and they are forced to retreat. The knights then encounter the Knights Who Say "Ni," a group of eccentric knights who demand a shrubbery as payment for allowing them to pass. After acquiring the shrubbery, they are told by the knights to cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with... a herring. Continuing their journey, the knights reach the Bridge of Death, guarded by the bridgekeeper (Terry Gilliam). Each knight must answer three questions to cross safely. Sir Lancelot successfully crosses, but Sir Robin and Sir Galahad fail. King Arthur is about to answer the final question when he is unexpectedly interrupted by Sir Bedevere. Finally, Arthur and Bedevere encounter the enigmatic and powerful sorcerer Tim the Enchanter (John Cleese), who warns them about the dangers of the Grail. Undeterred, the knights press on, facing several more challenges, including the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog, which decapitates some of their knights. The remaining knights eventually arrive at the Bridge of Death once again. This time, Arthur answers the bridgekeeper's questions correctly and safely crosses. He reunites with his knights and proceeds to the Cave of Caerbannog, where they find the Grail is guarded by a terrifying monster. They overcome the monster by using the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch and retrieve the Grail. However, as they make their way back to Camelot, King Arthur and his knights are unexpectedly arrested by modern-day police officers for the murder of a famous historian at the beginning of the film. The movie ends with the knights being taken away in a police car, leaving their quest for the Holy Grail unresolved. "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" is known for its irreverent humor, absurd situations, and memorable comedic moments. It has become a cult classic and is regarded as one of the greatest comedy films of all time.
